Elizabeth Richardson

Elizabeth Richardson was appointed to the Board of Parole Hearings on September 3, 2013, by Governor Brown. She previously served as deputy commissioner at the Board of Parole Hearings since 2013. She was special assistant inspector general at the Office of the Inspector General from 2007 to 2012 and deputy commissioner at the California Board of Prison Terms from 1997 to 2007. Richardson was deputy city attorney for the City of Long Beach from 1995 to 1997 and an associate at Grancell Lebovitz Stander Marks and Barnes from 1991 to 1995. She was an administrative hearing officer at the Los Angeles International Airport in 1990 and a teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District from 1985 to 1989. She served as captain in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1980 to 1984 and in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1984 to 2010, retiring as a colonel. Richardson earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern Law School. This position required Senate confirmation.
