Budget Services Functions:

• Work with internal program staff and external control agencies to develop the budget.
• Provide liaison with the Legislative Analyst Office (LAO) and the Legislature by participating in budget hearings, schedule tours, meetings and respond to requests as required by the Legislature and/or LAO.
• Participate in CDCR negotiations with the Bargaining Unit’s Union representatives to provide fiscal expertise.
• Provide budget support to Central Office divisions, Adult and Juvenile Institution Programs and Facilities, Adult and Juvenile Parole Programs, Health Care, and field staff.
• Work with Enterprise Information Systems staff to provide cost analyses to support Feasibility Study Reports.
• Provide technical budget expertise for response to the Directorate and external control agencies.
• Provide cost analyses on proposed Policy and Regulation revisions.
• Manage all budget development and administration activities, Budget Change Proposal, Finance Letters, and Fall and May Revise population processes. Also, monthly budget plan and fiscal review processes.
• Provide technical fiscal support to various task force groups, as needed.
