The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), in partnership with the federal Plata Receiver, is responsible for health care services to all inmate patients. Mental Health and Dental services are provided by the CDCR’s Division of Health Care Services (DHCS) while medical care is provided by the federally appointed Receiver. DHCS and the Receiver have worked collaboratively to provide quality, cost-effective health care services for inmate-patients, and DHCS is committed to providing quality care to inmate-patients.
