Grant Program Evaluation
The evaluation components of the Juvenile Challenge Grant Program and Mentally Ill Offender Crime Reduction Grant (MIOCRG) Program are similar. By statute, the Board must conduct a statewide evaluation of these programs. In addition, each county must evaluate its project. Thus, the Board's contracts with grantees include a Program Evaluation Survey that provides detailed information about the county's evaluation, including the research design, target population, interventions, and outcome variables. To view a survey for a particular county, click on the grant program and then the grantee of interest.
The enabling legislation for the Repeat Offender Prevention Program (ROPP) specifies the required research design (true experimental) and outcome variables (grade point average for the most recently completed semester; days of school attended; number of subsequent 602 petitions, and the subject matter of each; and number of days served in any local or state correctional facility) that must be included in the evaluation of projects. Therefore, the Board's contracts with the ROPP grantees does not include a Program Evaluation Survey. For more information on the ROPP, click here.
