STC Advisory #01-06 (Training Providers)

Return of STC Subvention Funds

The Corrections Standards Authority and the Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) program are pleased to announce the return of STC subvention funding for local corrections agencies after an absence of funding for the past three years. The recently passed 2006-07 state budget included $ 19.465 million dollars for local assistance payable from the Corrections Training Fund.

Now that funding has been restored it will be necessary for you to establish budgets for your STC certified courses. As you will recall, STC local assistance was diverted to the General Fund for the past three years. As a result, providers had the option of certifying courses with or without a budget. Now, in order for STC participating agencies to expend STC local assistance on your courses it is necessary for you to have an approved STC budget attached to your courses.
