Mission Statement

The mission of CSA's State Selection and Training Standards Unit is to improve the competency of correctional personnel in the State of California through the development of fair, empirically based standards for selection and training. These standards are designed to exemplify best practices in the field and provide a foundation for the employment of a quality workforce. The State Selection and Training Standards Unit achieves its aim through a dynamic process of continuous quality improvement in a manner that is service oriented, collaborative, innovative, practical, and supportive of organizational goals.
