Northern California Youth Correctional Center
The Northern California Youth Correctional Center (NCYCC) located in Stockton provides centralized administrative services to three separate facilities in Stockton. Those facilities are O. H. Close Youth Correctional Facility, DeWitt Nelson Youth Correctional Facility, and N. A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility.
The Business Services Office is responsible for managing a wide variety of support functions. The Accounting Office performs complete budget and accounting services. The Personnel Office services the Stockton facilities and Pine Grove Youth Conservation Camp and provides support to institutional personnel offices.
Food Services staff at the Central Kitchen prepare all of the meals for the three facilities. The meals are then transported to the facilities where they are distributed to wards. The Central Kitchen uses cook/chill food production system and the most modem equipment in the food industry.
Plant Operations provides physical plant maintenance including maintenance of all structures, equipment, utility systems, and fire protection. Vehicle maintenance is provided by an on grounds automotive shop. A central warehouse receives, stores, and distributes all supplies and equipment.
The NCYCC hospital is a 10-bed facility that is capable of housing wards with minor illnesses or minor injuries or those wards who are recovering from surgical procedures. Medical Technical Assistants are assigned to each institution to provide medical assistance to wards on site.
Central Security services include perimeter security, search and escort services, ward transportation, and escape and emergency assistance. The Tactical Team is also assigned to Central Security and consists of highly trained staff who assist in crowd control, searches and escapee apprehension. The NCYCC Training Office develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates training programs for the NCYCC complex.
