The Ventura Youth Correctional Facility houses female wards in living units comprised of individual rooms. The facility also serves as a reception center for female wards.

Mary B. Perry High School provides instruction in basic skills, high school courses, GED preparation, and vocational training. Special education services are available. Qualified wards have an opportunity to earn college credits towards an Associate of Arts Degree through Ventura Community College. A Free Venture Program is available as well as furloughs for work experience.

Immediately adjacent to the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility is the Sylvester Carraway Public Service and Fire Center. The camp program at this site has a female fire crew as well as male fire crews. Female camp wards reside within the main facility; male wards reside at the camp.

Special programs available for female wards include a residential substance abuse treatment program, an intensive treatment program, and a specialized counseling program. This site has a large and well-developed volunteer program.
