The Adult Parole Programs Unit (APP) supervises and manages the Parole Agent Academy (PAA). The PAA is a 10-week academy, responsible for training newly hired Parole Agents. The APP is also responsible for training Rangemasters, Parole Agent Safety and Tactical instructors and Baton instructors for the entire Division of Adult Parole Operations. The PA provides the lead for all annual mandatory training requirements for the Parole Agent Classification and maintains compliance with policy, law changes, and negotiated requirements.

The Adult Program Unit is responsible for operation of the Basic Correctional Officer Academy (BCOA). The BCOA is a 16-week training program for individuals entering into the Correctional Officer civil service classification. Upon graduation from the Academy, the Correctional Officers will be assigned to one of the State of California's adult institutions to assist in protecting and securing the safety of staff, inmates, and the public. BCOA academies are held in Galt and at the Stockton Annex.

The Information Systems (IS) Unit is responsible for the networking and telephone infrastructure for all Office of Training and Professional Development (OTPD) sites located at OTPD HQ Sacramento, Correctional Training Center (CTC) Galt, CTC Annex (CTCA) Stockton, and Stockton Training Center (STC) Stockton. IS staff provide support for customized user applications and standard software packages, network connectivity and wiring, server and shared access points, telecommunications services, and audio visual services for classroom instruction.

The Juvenile Parole Program Unit is responsible for managing and supervising the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Parole Agent Academy. The DJJ Parole Agent Academy is a three-week academy responsible for training newly hired DJJ Parole Agents. The Juvenile Parole Program Unit also provides the lead and coordination for all annual mandatory training requirements for the DJJ Parole Agent classifications and DJJ Parole non-peace officer staff, and also maintains compliance with policy, law changes, and negotiated instruction.

The Basic Correctional Juvenile Academy (BCJA) under the direction of the Basic Peace Officer Institute (BPOI), Office of Training and Professional Development (OTPD) is responsible for the delivery of academy training to cadets hired by the Juvenile Justice Facilities. The BCJA is certified through the San Joaquin Delta College – Criminal Justice Administration Program, a community-based academy partnership. The BCJA is also identified as part of BPOI's Youth Program. Youth Programs will provide training specific to rehabilitation and treatment services for youthful offenders in the care of the Division of Juvenile Justice.

In addition to other functions, the In-Service Training Office is responsible for the scheduling and facilitation of PC 832 training.
The Plant Operations Unit (PO) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the physical infrastructure, equipment, vehicle fleet and grounds at the Galt Training Center, Stockton Training Center, and the Stockton Annex. The physical infrastructure includes all sewage, water, plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilating, and cooling systems. All equipment related to these systems are serviced on a regular preventive maintenance schedule. All vehicles, including the bus fleet and all landscape equipment are maintained and repaired in the auto shop. In addition, the PO is responsible for Hazardous Material Management and Employee Safety Compliance.

The Range and Tactical Training Unit (RTT) provides specialized training to staff within all adult facilities. Training includes PC 832, Rangemaster, Rangemaster Proctor, Baton Instructor Courses, Armory Schools and Instructor Recertification. The RTT also oversees the Division of Juvenile Justice Firearms Program which includes statewide Quarterly Qualifications, PC832 – Firearms as well as 9mm Transition Training for both the Institutions and Camps Branch and the Parole Services and Community Corrections Branch.
