The Accounting Liaison Unit (AL) is responsible for processing Travel Expense Claims, Travel Advances, and distribution of payroll warrants for staff. The AL also coordinates and assists with travel arrangement for guest training staff, reconciles and deposits monies from culinary services and laundry machines in a timely manner. Acts as a liaison between the Central Valley Regional Accounting Office and training sites within the Office of Training and Professional Development.

The Budget Services Unit (BS) is responsible for the administration of the budget for the OTPD. The BS reviews and analyzes the initial allotment, budget changes, and program needs as they relate to the budget process. The BS also tracks and monitors overall expenditures; temporary help; overtime usage; surplus/deficits, and makes recommendations to administration for adjustments. In addition, the BC prepares mid-year fiscal reviews; acts as a liaison between all divisions on all budgetary and position control issues; ensuring sufficient funds are available; coordinates and assist in the preparation of staffing packages and/or position drills for the activation/deactivation of staff according to cadet population; and assists support staff in the preparation of Policy Budget Change Proposals.

The Culinary Services Unit is responsible for preparing approximately 2200 meals per day. Meals provided are prepared by skilled culinary personnel using fine ingredients. Ethnic, cultural, and dietary needs are accommodated through varied menus, and a salad bar. Patrons served are the Basic Correctional Office Academy students, Parole Agent Academy students, California Youth Authority students, Range and Tactical Training participants, Advanced Academies participants, and staff at the Galt Training Center and the Stockton Training Annex.

The Curriculum Testing Unit (CT) is responsible for the testing of peace officers attending the OTPD’s Basic Correctional Officer, Basic Correctional Juvenile, and Parole Agent Academies. The CT ensures the integrity of the exam process; monitors the analysis of exam statistics; identifies test question concerns and/or instruction deficiencies, and also maintains a database with cadet data for historical and statistical purposes. The Recruitment and Hiring/Personnel Liaison Unit (RHPL) is responsible for the hiring and position allocation process for OTPD; providing guidance and instruction to applicants and OTPD supervisors regarding recruitment, hiring, and other personnel, classification, and pay issues. The RHPL also provides service to staff and cadets at the CTC Annex and the Stockton Training Center in lieu of an on-site Personnel Office.

The Procurement Services Unit is responsible for the operation and daily management of all purchasing which includes service and expense orders, equipment, materials and supplies for the OTPD. This section also provides a professional, accurate and timely service to our customers in training tools to procure a wide variety of commodities and services to meet the demands and mission of our staff.
