Office of Public Affairs/Communications

There are three public information officers within the Communications and Public Affairs Office at CDCR headquarters in Sacramento. Outside of the Executive Office, the Division of Juvenile Justice is comprised of 8 institutions, four camps, and 16 parole offices throughout California. There are approximately 3,100 wards and 4,100 parolees under the authority of DJJ at any given time. Field public information officers at each of the institutions, camps and parole offices report directly to the Communications Office.

Media inquires on DJJ policies, procedures and operations are welcome. Please read our media policies and the accompanying agreements and forms, Publicity Release Waiver or Location Agreement, to understand how media inquiries are handled within the Division of Juvenile Justice, including filming permits.
