Trey Luzzi was appointed as a Deputy to Governor Schwarzenegger’s Senior Advisor in 2005. In addition to being Deputy to the Senior Advisor, Mr. Luzzi took on the responsibility as Deputy Cabinet Secretary, focusing on education. He had the privilege to work on high profile issues within the administration such as Proposition 98, Proposition 49, the Board of Parole Hearings, the Governor’s Committee on Education Excellence, the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the California Film Commission, civil rights, crime victims, prison issues and many other important topics.
In 2007, Mr. Luzzi was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger as Director of the Office of Court Compliance (OCC) for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. This position provides oversight and direction to OCC staff and is responsible for coordinating with senior staff to ensure compliance plans are enacted. The Director provides expertise and consultation to the Secretary, Undersecretary, Governor’s office, legislators, community leaders and other government agencies.
