Correctional Training Facility - Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Correctional Training Facility is to provide housing, programs and services for medium custody inmates.

Institution Details

Correctional Training Facility opened in 1946; covers 680 acres, and is a three-facility complex, each function’s independently, however when required each facility supports each other:

Central Facility: The Central Facility opened in 1951, and is a training and work-oriented facility that provides comprehensive Academic, Vocational, and Prison Industries Authority programs. The Central Facility houses Level II inmates and also operates the institution's Administrative Segregation Unit.

North Facility: The North Facility opened in 1958, and is a training and work-oriented facility that provides comprehensive academic, vocational, Drug Addiction & Recovery Services, and Prison Industries Authority programs. The North Facility houses Sensitive Needs Yard Level III inmates.

South Facility: The South Facility opened in 1946, when it was utilized as a camp center administered by San Quentin State Prison; and now provides the institution with outside minimum custody workers. The facility also offers academic, vocational and industrial assignments. The South Facility houses Level I inmates.

CTF is engaged in ongoing efforts to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  CTF provides Correctional Clinical Case Management Services (CCCMS) level of care.
