Contract Beds Unit (CBU)

CBU is a unit within the Division of Adult Institutions whose mission is to transfer inmates out of state for the purpose of temporarily alleviating overcrowding within existing institutions, and to oversee the coordination and support of a MCCF program. In addition, CBU also manages and provides oversight to other various contracts, including the Alternative Custody Program, Medical Paroles, Contract Back Beds, and the Sacramento Control Office/ Western Interstate Corrections Compact.
