Task Statements:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. \u00a0Prepares plans, specifications and estimates\nfor a wide variety of civil and structural related projects of lesser\ndifficulty to provide direction to the field utilizing various resources (e.g.,\ncomputers, hand drafting equipment, calculator), under the direction of the\nsupervising civil engineer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. \u00a0Develops designs for a wide variety of civil\nand structural related projects of lesser difficulty to provide a concept to\nsolve problems using various resources (e.g. pencils, paper, calculator,\ncomputer programs, applicable codes and standards), as necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. \u00a0Perform survey work for various types of\nconstruction projects to produce topographic maps and elevation studies\nutilizing survey equipment, as necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. \u00a0Conducts foundation studies for various types\nof construction projects to make a recommendation regarding building footing\ndesign utilizing various resources (building codes, computer, calculator), as\nnecessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. \u00a0Inspects structures under construction to\nensure conformance to plans and specifications, as necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. \u00a0Prepares effective written products for the\nDepartment to provide information and documentation utilizing various tools,\nequipment, aids, and\/or processes, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. \u00a0Communicates in a professional and effective\nmanner with others utilizing tact and interpersonal skills to establish and\nmaintain effective working relationships in all situations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. \u00a0Analyzes hydrologic data to determine flood\nfrequencies, unit hydrographs and the characteristics of water quality,\nprecipitation, stream flow, and ground water using various tools, aids,\nequipment and\/or processes, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. \u00a0Consults with construction and institution\nplant operations personnel to coordinate site visits, provide information,\nchange orders, request for information, alternative construction methods using\nvarious resources (e.g. knowledge, interpersonal skills) as necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. \u00a0Performs technical studies, investigations and\nresearch work on a wide variety of civil and structural projects or issues to\ndetermine needs, identify solutions and ensure conformance with applicable\ncodes and standards using various tools, equipment, aids and\/or processes, as\nneeded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. \u00a0Reviews designs, purchase documents, reports,\nbudget packages, construction submittals, shop drawings, etc. produced by other\nentities (e.g outside consultants\/vendors, departmental staff) to ensure\nconformance to codes, plans, specifications, security standards, etc., as\nneeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
