Perform intensive individual casework\nservices, group work counseling and psychotherapy to assist with the behavioral\nstabilization and support of youthful offenders using Department approved\ninterventions and strategies, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp; Interview youthful offenders to compile\nbiopsychosocial information utilizing motivational interviewing techniques or\nother Department adopted techniques, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp; Collaborate with the Inter-disciplinary\nTreatment Team (e.g., mental health, medical, education, custody, family, etc.)\nto make diagnostic formulations using risk assessments to identify criminogenic\nfactors, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.&nbsp; Interpret and communicate the\nsocial\/therapeutic aspects of mental\/emotional disturbances and delinquency to\neducate parents, relatives, parole officers, probation officers and other\nstakeholders interested in the welfare of youthful offenders using case\nmanagement processes, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp; Assign youthful offenders to program\nactivities (e.g., individual counseling, therapeutic interventions, etc.) to\nensure programming is based on their criminogenic risk\/needs assessment,\nstrengths and responsivity needs using staff observations, Inter-disciplinary Treatment\nTeam input and departmental assessments, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.&nbsp; Provide other staff and stakeholders with the\ndiagnosis and treatment processes of youthful offenders to promote\naccountability and ensure consistency using the principles of the Integrated Behavior\nTreatment Model (IBTM), as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.&nbsp; Analyze information from the\nInter-disciplinary Treatment Team to document youthful offender conduct and\nprogress towards short and long term goals using verbal, electronic and written\ninformation\/documentation, on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.&nbsp; Collaborate with social service agencies,\nRe-entry Specialist and families to develop and implement a re-entry plan based\non the youthful offender\u2019s risks, strengths, needs and resources using the\nre-entry plan and available community resources, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.&nbsp; Complete all notification and registration\nrequirements to ensure the appropriate jurisdictions are notified using\ndepartmental forms and procedures, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.&nbsp; Facilitate case conferences to discuss and\nmonitor the youthful offender\u2019s progress using short and long term goals,\naction steps and treatment progress and identify stage of change as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11.&nbsp; Review written reports from Youth\nCorrectional Counselors (YCC) to ensure compliance with IBTM using standardized\ncase management principles incorporating treatment team progress notes,\neducation, mental health and medical information as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12.&nbsp; Review YCC\u2019s casework documentation to ensure\nnotes are in compliance with established case plan goals and objectives using\ndepartmental policy, on a weekly basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13.&nbsp; Present reports (e.g., Annual Review,\nDischarge Consideration Hearing, Transfer Summary, etc.) to provide information\nto appropriate stakeholders and counties of commitment using departmental\npolicies and procedures, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14.&nbsp; Participate in research projects to provide\ndocumentation and information using communication skills, as directed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15.&nbsp; Supervise graduate social work students\nduring field placements to effectively train students using departmental and\neducational policies and procedures, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16.&nbsp; Act as lead person to fill the absence of the\nSupervising Casework Specialist using effective leadership skills and duty\nstatements, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17.&nbsp; Utilize Behavior Management System including\nReinforcement System, Level System and Disciplinary Decision Making System, as\nrequired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18.&nbsp; Consult with the SYCC on the casework\nservices being performed by YCC to ensure completion of casework using casework\nschedules and Program Service Day (PSD) schedules, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19.&nbsp; Advise the SYCC on the casework services\nbeing performed by YCC to provide information and facilitate decision making\nusing departmental policies and procedures, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20.&nbsp; Prepare reports (e.g., verbal, written,\nstatistical, etc.) to record and provide information using written and\nelectronic documents, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21.&nbsp; Train staff and participants using\ndepartmental policies, procedures and approved curriculum, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22.&nbsp; Participate as an integral member at\nmeetings, committees and conferences to provide information and insight using\nsocial work theories and practices, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23.&nbsp; Identify casework and program assignment\ndecisions on assigned youthful offender cases to ensure appropriate programming\nusing risk, need and responsivity tools, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>24.&nbsp; Collaborate with County Probation Departments\nto develop discharge plans for prospective probationers using departmental\napproved assessment instruments, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>25.&nbsp; Present treatment information for hearings,\ncase conferences, individual education programs and student consultation team\nmeetings to provide information to appropriate stakeholders using pertinent\ncase file information, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26.&nbsp; Maintain institutional and workplace order to\nensure safety and security using departmental policies and procedures, as\nrequired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>27.&nbsp; Supervise the conduct of persons committed to\nthe Division of Juvenile Justice to maintain safety and security using\ndepartmental policies and procedures, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28.&nbsp; Prevent escapes and injury by youthful\noffenders to themselves or others by maintaining safety and security using\ndepartmental policies and procedures, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>29.&nbsp; Maintain working conditions to ensure safety\nand security using departmental policies and procedures, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30.&nbsp;
