class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><strong>Task Statements:<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1<strong>.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plan\nthe work of assigned staff with regional responsibilities for an extensive\ngeographical area of multiple facilities to ensure compliance with program\nneeds using plans, specifications, building codes, and departmental standards,\npolicies, and procedures as directed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2.\u00a0 Supervise an inmate\/youthful offender labor\nprogram involving construction, alterations, and repair of large scale\nbuildings and structures to ensure compliance with program needs using plans,\nspecifications, building codes, and departmental policies and procedures as\ndirected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3.\u00a0 Review the development of project\nconstruction schedules to meet priority objectives using approved construction\ndocuments (plans and specifications, project scope, change orders, etc.) under\nthe general direction of the Associate Director, Construction Services Branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4.\u00a0 Review and\/or approve scope of work,\ntimelines, and estimates based on approved construction documents for different\ntypes of contracts (e.g. public works and service contracts) to ensure accuracy\nusing laws, rules, and regulations as necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5.\u00a0 Oversee assigned staff in complex\nconstruction and repair projects to minimize the impact on the facility and its\nprograms using Departmental Operations Manual (DOM), California Code of\nRegulations (CCR) as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6.\u00a0 Assist assigned staff in coordinating efforts\nwith stakeholders during complex construction and repair projects to minimize\nthe impact on the facility and its programs using DOM and CCR as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7.\u00a0 Review staff Injury Illness Prevention\nProgram (IIPP) including developing project specific safety plans (training,\ndocumentation, daily job site safety inspections, etc.) to ensure compliance\nwith program needs using laws, rules, and regulations as required by the California\nOffice of Safety and Health Administration <br>\n(Cal-OSHA) standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8.\u00a0 Oversee safety issues using job hazard\nassessments, corrective action plans, and specific individual training on the\nuse of tools and equipment, to maintain the IIPP as required by Cal-OSHA\nstandards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9.\u00a0 Provide leadership and guidance to\nconstruction supervisory staff in producing a quality product within allotted\nschedule and budget using communication and organizational skills as necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10.\u00a0 Travel to various regional and statewide\nlocations for onsite supervision, implement policies and procedures, attend\ntraining, etc. using state authorized transportation as necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">11.\n\u00a0Oversee compliance with standards for\nthe selection of inmates\/youthful offenders to ensure qualified labor is\nprovided for each construction project using the California Department of\nCorrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Division of Adult Institution\u2019s\nguidelines for the specific project as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">12.\u00a0 Manage the development of project construction\nschedules to meet priority objectives (e.g., project urgency and costs) using\nthe approved construction documents (plans, specifications, change orders,\netc.) under the general direction of the Associate Director, Construction\nServices Branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">13.\u00a0 Perform long-term planning of program\nactivities to ensure the goals and objectives of the Department are achieved\nusing the five year plan, departmental master plan, resource loaded\nconstruction schedules, capital outlay budget change proposals, court mandated\nprojects, etc. as directed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">14.\u00a0 Manage the work of assigned statewide staff\nto ensure compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and standards\nusing laws, rules, and regulations as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">15.\u00a0 Maintain consistent performance standards in\npreparing cost estimates and construction schedules to support construction\nproject funding requests using plans, specifications, and scope of work
