1.  Plan the work of assigned staff with regional\nresponsibilities for an extensive geographical area of multiple facilities to\nensure compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and standards as\ndirected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.\n Coordinate construction projects to meet\npriority objectives by considering the entire scope of the project and\nreferencing the approved construction documents (e.g., plans and\nspecifications, etc.) under the general direction of the Chief, Day Labor\nProgram, and Correctional Facility (CF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.\n Manage the development of project\nconstruction schedules by considering the entire scope of the project and\nreferencing the approved construction documents (e.g., plans and\nspecifications, etc.) to meet priority objectives (e.g., project urgency and\ncosts, etc.) under the general direction of the Chief, Day Labor Program, CF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.\n Prioritize the allocation of project\nfunds, materials, equipment and staff on a regional basis to ensure timely\nproject completion utilizing construction schedules, cost estimates, project\nbudgets, etc. as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.\n Oversee project expenditures and budget\nby providing direction in the allocation of resources (e.g., project funds,\nmaterials, equipment and staff) by reviewing project documentation and\/or\ninspections under the direction of the Chief, Day Labor Program on an ongoing\nbasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.\n Review plans, specifications, and work\ndescriptions against actual field conditions to clarify construction issues\nthrough the Construction Bulletin (CB), Request for Information (RFI), and\nChange Order (CO) process, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.\n Perform final inspection and acceptance\nof projects in order to confirm completion and compliance utilizing construction\ndocuments, design criteria, and applicable building codes as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.\n Manage\nregional contracts based on approved construction documents to issue notices\n(i.e., proceed\/completion notices) and to approve or disapprove payment as\nneeded.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11.\n Develop\nscope of work, timelines, and estimates based on approved construction\ndocuments for different types of contracts (i.e., public works contracts or\nservice contracts) to provide specialty services pertaining to construction\nprojects as needed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.\n Instruct\nassigned staff to coordinate with the facility on complex construction and\nrepair projects to minimize the impact on the facility and its programs to\ncomply with the DOM, CCR, and Title 15 as needed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

13.\n Plan\nregional safety activities for staff in order to maintain the Injury Illness\nPrevention Program (IIPP) utilizing departmental policies, procedures,\nguidelines, and regulations in accordance with Title 15 and the California\nOffice of Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA) standards.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.\n Identify\nsafety issues in order to maintain the IIPP utilizing hazard assessment,\ncorrective action, and specific individual training on the use of tools and\nequipment in accordance with Cal-OSHA standards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

15.\n Provide\nleadership and guidance to second level supervisors to produce a quality\nproduct within budget and schedule utilizing effective communication and\norganizational skills as needed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.\n Travel\n(including overnight) to different locations statewide to provide project\noversight, implement policies and procedures, attend training, etc. utilizing\nstate or personal vehicle, airlines, etc. as needed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.\n Supervise\nassigned staff in the selection of adult\/youthful offenders by working with the\nCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) classification\ncommittee to ensure that qualified adult\/youthful offender labor is provided\nfor each construction project as needed.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.\n Complete\nlong-term regional planning of program activities to achieve the goals and\nobjectives of the Department utilizing five year plan, schedules, capital\noutlay budget change proposals, court mandated projects, etc. as directed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

19.\n Oversee\nthe maintenance and repair of construction tools and equipment to maintain safe\noperation in accordance with the departmental and program\u2019s policies and\nprocedures as needed..<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
