security of the institution, staff and inmates using Injury and Illness\nPrevention Program (IIPP), California Code of Regulations (CCR), National Fire\nProtection Association (NFPA), National Electrical Code (NEC), etc., as required.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. &nbsp;Layout the work of Electrician I\/II and\ninmates engaged in the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of\ninstitutional electrical systems (e.g., lighting, distribution, etc.) to ensure\nthe safety and security of the institution, staff and inmates using IIPP, CCR,\nNFPA, NEC, etc., as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. &nbsp;Lead the work of Electrician I\/II and inmates\nengaged in the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of institutional\nelectrical systems (e.g., lighting, distribution, etc.) to ensure the safety\nand security of the institution, staff and inmates using IIPP, CCR, NFPA, NEC,\netc., as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. &nbsp;Inspect the work of Electrician I\/II and\ninmates engaged in the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of\ninstitutional electrical systems (e.g., lighting, distribution, etc.) to ensure\nthe safety and security of the institution, staff and inmates using IIPP, CCR,\nNFPA, NEC, etc., as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. &nbsp;Prepare rough sketches of minor electrical\ninstallations to provide an updated blueprint utilizing drawing materials as\nneeded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. &nbsp;Prepare estimates for projects (i.e. labor,\nmaterials, tools and equipment) to provide supervisor with necessary\ninformation for planning, developing and cost analysis using internet,\nblueprints and rough sketches according to federal\/state\/local codes and\nregulations as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. &nbsp;Advise supervisor of the selection and\nprocurement of electrical materials, tools, and equipment for projects and\nmaintenance to meet the needs of the institution using the Departmental Design\nCriteria, catalogs, internet, etc., as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. &nbsp;Advise supervisor in the maintenance and\nrepair of institutional electrical systems (e.g., lighting, distribution, etc.)\nto meet the needs of the facility using CCR, NFPA, NEC, etc., as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. &nbsp;Organize tools, equipment and inventory in a\nsafe and orderly manner to maintain functionality, reliability, and ensure\ncontinuity of work and job completion using California Occupational Safety\nHealth Administration (Cal-OSHA), Departmental Operations Manual (DOM), policy\nand procedures on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. &nbsp;Respond to institutional work orders to ensure\ntimely repair and maintenance of electrical systems using CCR, NFPA, NEC, etc.,\nas needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11. &nbsp;Maintain institutional electrical systems\n(e.g., lighting, distribution, etc.) to meet federal\/state\/local codes and\nregulations and ensure safety\/security of the institution, staff and inmates\nusing CCR, NFPA, NEC, etc., as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12. &nbsp;Coordinate with departmental supervisors,\ntrades people, custody\/medical staff, contractors and vendors regarding\nprojects to ensure the work is completed effectively and efficiently using\ninterpersonal skills and various resources such as the DOM, local Operational\nProcedures (OP), etc., as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13. &nbsp;Supervise inmates engaged in the use of tools,\nequipment and materials to maintain safety and security of the facilities\/work\nareas using interpersonal skills, DOM, tool\/key control, material\naccountability, etc., on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14. &nbsp;Communicate in a professional and effective\nmanner with supervisors, staff and inmates to provide and obtain information\nand establish effective working relationships while using interpersonal skills\nand DOM, at all times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15. &nbsp;Supervise the conduct of inmates to prevent\nescapes and injuries by inmates to themselves or others and damage to property\nusing interpersonal skills, DOM, Supervisory Reports (Form CDC 101), Counseling\nChronos (Form CDC 128), etc., on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16. &nbsp;Maintain electrical shop and contents to\nensure compliance stipulated by rules, regulations, policies and procedures to\nprovide a safe and secure work environment using Cal-OSHA, DOM, IIPP, OP, etc.,\non a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17. &nbsp;Search premises for contraband such as weapons\nor illegal drugs, etc. to ensure the safety and security of the institution\nusing DOM and local OP, as needed.
