(e.g., telecommunication\nsystems in the Private Branch Automatic Exchange (PBAX), television set and\nbatteries for television remotes, etc.) utilizing Manufacture\u2019s Specification\nManuals to ensure proper functioning of electronic systems and the safety and\nsecurity of the institution\/facility, staff, inmates\/youthful offenders, and the\npublic, as required by the electronic industry standards, National Electrical\nCode (NEC), Federal Communication Commission (FCC), Department\u2019s Operations\nManual (DOM) and institutional guidelines, as needed and per required\nmaintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. &nbsp;Troubleshoot, repair and adjust equipment\n(e.g. audio-communication, security sound systems, radio and television\nreceivers, personal alarms systems, etc.) to ensure proper functioning of\nelectronic systems and the safety and security of the institution\/facility, staff,\ninmates\/youthful offenders, and the public, as required by the electronic\nindustry standards, NEC, FCC, DOM, and institutional guidelines, as needed and\nper required maintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. &nbsp;Assist various trades with troubleshooting,\ninstallation and repair of the more complicated electronics equipment (e.g.\nradiotelephone, channelized microwave, wire carrier equipment, traffic signal\nand lighting systems) to ensure proper functioning of electronic systems and\nthe safety and security of the institution\/facility, staff, inmates\/youthful\noffenders, and the public, as required by the electronic industry standards,\nNEC, FCC, DOM, and institutional guidelines, as needed and per required\nmaintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. &nbsp;Use electronic measuring and testing devices\n(e.g., hand tools, voltage meter, network testing, toner, etc.) to troubleshoot\nelectronic devices [e.g. Public Address (PA) systems, Fire Alarms Control\nPanels (FACP), etc.] to ensure the longevity and proper functionality of\nelectronic devices, as required by California Occupational Safety and Hazard\nAssociation (Cal OSHA), electronic industry standards, NEC, FCC, DOM, National\nFire Protection Association (NFPA), and institutional guidelines, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. &nbsp;Draw and interpret schematic diagrams of\nelectrical and electronic circuits to ensure proper functioning of electronic\nsystems and the safety and security of the institution\/facility, staff,\ninmates\/youthful offenders, and the public, as required by the electronic\nindustry standards, NEC, FCC, DOM, and institutional guidelines, as needed and\nper required maintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. &nbsp;Estimate cost and order materials\/replacement\nparts to repair or modify existing equipment, and to maintain adequate\ninventory for emergency repairs utilizing quotes and bid forms from vendors,\nand the department\u2019s procurement process per California Department of\nCorrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) procurement policies and guidelines and\nthe DOM, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. &nbsp;Maintain records and generate reports (e.g.,\ndaily work reports, tool control, phone log reports, etc.) utilizing\nappropriate documents and forms to ensure safety and security of the\ninstitution per the DOM, California Code Regulations (CCR) Title 15, Safety\nTraining (per SP198), and Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH),\nas needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. &nbsp;Maintain the order and supervise the conduct\nof inmates\/youthful offenders committed to CDCR in the performance of their\nduties to ensure the safety and security of the institution\/facility, utilizing\nappropriate communication skills, and heightened awareness of the surroundings\nin accordance with CCR Title 15, and DOM, on a continuous basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. Maintain\nsafety and security of the institution\/facility, inmates\/youthful offenders and\nthe public, by preventing escapes and injury to themselves\/others or damage to\nproperty, utilizing acquired training and heighten awareness of the\nsurroundings in accordance with DOM, Operational Procedures (OP), and CCR Title\n15, on a continuous basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. &nbsp;Maintain work areas, tools, and materials in\nthe performance of daily maintenance activities to ensure the safety and\nsecurity of the institution\/facility utilizing material and tool control\nprocedures and heighten awareness of the surroundings in accordance with DOM,\nDOSH, OP, CCR Title 15, on a continuous basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11. &nbsp;Inspect premises and conduct searches of\ninmates\/youthful offenders and work areas for contraband (e.g., drugs, weapons,\nalcohol, money, cell phones, etc.) to ensure the safety and security of the\ninstitution\/facility, staff, and inmates\/youthful offenders utilizing visual\nobservation, physical searches, acquired training and heighten awareness of the\nsurroundings in accordance with DOM, OP, CCR Title 15, on a continuous basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12. &nbsp;<strong>Install,\noperate, maintain, adjust, repair, test, and program Fire Alarm Control\nSystems, [e.g., Central Station Computer, Field Control Panels, Secondary Power\nSources, Indicating Devices and Initiating Devices, etc.] utilizing Manufacture\u2019s\nSpecification Manuals, schematics, hand tools, and test equipment following\nguidelines to ensure proper systems, etc.] utilizing service trucks, boom\ntruck, scissor lift, fork lift, etc., as required by Cal OSHA, Department of\nMotor Vehicles (DMV), and the DOM, as needed.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20. &nbsp;<strong>Operates\nvarious types of power equipment to perform installation, repair, and maintain\nvarious types of electronic systems (e.g., CCTV, MATV, PA system, etc.)\nutilizing rotary following\nguidelines to ensure proper operation of electronic equipment, and maintain the\nsafety and security of the institution\/facility, staff, inmates\/youthful\noffenders, and the public,
