Task Statements:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1.\n Performs data management functions (i.e.\nOBIS, OBITS, DDPS) for all CDCR staff to produce reliable information using\napplication systems according to department policies, procedures, and\nprocesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.\n Drafts instructions for IT staff to\ndocument job processes and job setup instructions using word processing\napplications under the direction of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.\n Performs program librarian functions for\nIT staff to maintain and organize procedures and documentation, utilizing word\nprocessing and spreadsheet applications on tapes, CDs, and other formats, under\nthe direction of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.\n Performs tests in support of systems\nanalysis to record functionality of the system using system tools provided at\nthe direction of the project team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.\n Performs tests in support of systems\nprogramming to record functionality of the system program using system tools\nprovided at the direction of the project team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.\n Performs tests in support of systems\nmachine operations to record functionality of the machine operations using\nsystem tools provided at the direction of the project team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.\n Conducts on-the-job training for peers\nto standardize work processes utilizing the tools (i.e. punch down tools,\ncrimpers), equipment, aids or processes designated by the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.\n Monitors systems communication to ensure\nsuccessful completion of job processes using network monitoring applications\nunder the direction of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.\n Responds to user requests providing help\ndesk support on a regular basis to document and follow up on requests using the\nRemedy application or other call logging tools under the direction of the IT\nsupervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.\n Operates information technology system components\nand peripheral equipment for CDCR staff running processes and reports using\nsystem tools under the direction of IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11.\n Arranges maintenance, repair, and\nreplacement of computer and peripheral equipment for CDCR staff using internet,\nphone, and the Remedy application under the direction of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.\n Assists with classroom instruction for\nthe education of system users, utilizing overhead projector, PowerPoint,\nlaptop, word processing tools, under the direction of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

13.\n Prepares lesson guides and reviews the\nuser\u2019s progress for the purpose of educating the users, utilizing overhead\nprojector, PowerPoint, laptop, word processing tools, under the direction of\nthe IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.\n Performs user support to assist in\nmethods of using the computer system to work more effectively and efficiently\nutilizing the standard Microsoft Office suite and other applications under the\ndirection of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

15.\n Drafts procedures and standards for data\nacquisition to maintain valid information within the databases utilizing\nautomated tools under the direction of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.\n Sets up job streams and utility programs\nto produce jobs and reports using the policies, procedures, and processes under\nthe direction of EIS and the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.\n Assists IT staff in the coordination of\nprocessing schedules and change management to business systems utilizing tools\nas directed by the project and\/or program group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.\n Installs software and software upgrades\non computers to produce functional systems to meet the business need, utilizing\ninstaller software for the operating system, under the direction of the IT\nsupervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

19.\n Provides technical advice and general\ntroubleshooting on computer systems for CDCR staff to produce functional\nsystems using diagnostic software under the direction of the IT supervisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

20.\n Reviews\nsystem documentation in order to understand the scope of the system using\ndocumentation methods (i.e. user manual, programming language, system\nspecifications) under the direction of the IT supervisor or the project team.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

21.\n Reviews\nand test new or existing applications to produce reports on functionality of\nthe application, using the application under the direction of the IT supervisor\nor the project team. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

22.\n Drafts\nsimple instructions for using and operating a program, for CDCR staff using\nword processing applications, under the direction of the IT supervisor.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

23.\n Provides\ninput to IT supervisor to assist with resolving a system maintenance problem by\nusing the program library, under the direction of the IT supervisor. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

24.\n Refers\nCDCR staff to training materials for computer systems to produce knowledgeable\nstaff using shared resources (i.e. Intranet, Internet, shared server, CD),\nunder the direction of the IT supervisor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
