this classification may perform some or all of these\ntasks.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Task Statements:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\n&nbsp;Plans the operations of a laundry\nfacility in order to clean, sort, and deliver laundry utilizing equipment\n(e.g., industrial washers\/dryers, sewing and pressing machines) for housing\nunits, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\n&nbsp;Organize the operations of a laundry\nfacilities in order to clean, sort, and deliver laundry to the housing units\nutilizing equipment (e.g., industrial washers\/dryers, sewing and pressing\nmachines), on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\n&nbsp;Supervises employees (Laundry Supervisor\nI, CF) and inmates in the operations of a laundry facility in order to clean,\nsort, and deliver laundry to the housing units utilizing equipment (e.g.,\nindustrial washers\/dryers, sewing and pressing machines), on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.\n&nbsp;Supervises the maintenance of laundry\nequipment and supplies for the institution to ensure equipment is functioning\nproperly utilizing training, inspection sheets, Preventative Maintenance (PM)\nand chemical logs according to manufacture specifications and safety\nrequirements; per Department of Corrections Operational Manual DOM, Title 22,\nfacility operating procedures, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.\n&nbsp;Instructs laundry workers (e.g., Laundry\nSupervisor I, CF and inmates) to safely operate the equipment in order to\nclean, sort and fold laundry utilizing tools (e.g., scissors, irons, presses,\nwashers\/dryers, sewing machines) according to manufacture specifications and\nsafety requirements; per DOM, Title 22, facility operating procedures, Injury\nand Illness Preventative Program (IIPP), on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.\n&nbsp;Maintains order and supervise the\nconduct of inmate workers to prevent escapes, damage to state property, or\nphysical assaults that may result in injury or death utilizing lock control,\npersonal alarm checks, reporting of unusual behavior\/activity, securing laundry\ntools that can be used as potential weapons (e.g., scissors, screwdrivers,\nirons, chemicals) as required by DOM, Title 15, Operational procedures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.\n&nbsp;Protects the safety of persons\n(institutional staff and inmates) and property to prevent escape and\/or injury\nutilizing verbal and written instructions in accordance with Title 15 and DOM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.\n&nbsp;Maintains the safety of persons\n(institutional staff and inmates) and property to ensure compliance utilizing\nverbal and written instructions in accordance with Title 15 and DOM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.\n&nbsp;Instructs employees (Laundry Supervisor\nI, CF) and inmates to properly handle and transport material (e.g., linen,\nclothing, rags) utilizing lifting techniques, weighing and balancing loads, per\nDOM, facility operating procedures, Injury and Illness Preventative Program\n(IIPP). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.\n&nbsp;Leads employees (Laundry Supervisor I,\nCF) and inmates in the operation of the laundry facility in order to produce\nclean laundry utilizing chemical formulas, length of washing times, and water\ntemperatures for all incoming\/outgoing linen in accordance to standard\npractices per Title 22, DOM, Operational procedures, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11.\n&nbsp;Supervises employees (Laundry Supervisor\nI, CF) and inmates in safely loading and unloading laundry into vehicles\nutilizing carts and lifts, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12.\n&nbsp;Assigns work\/supervises and provides\ninstructions to employees and helpers from the resident population to complete\na task (mopping, sweeping, maintaining drains, cleaning screens\/filters)\nutilizing brooms, cleaning chemicals, mops, filters, nets on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13.\n&nbsp;Assigns work\/supervises and provides\ntraining to employees and helpers from the resident population to complete a\ntask (mopping, sweeping, maintaining drains, cleaning screens\/filters)\nutilizing brooms, cleaning chemicals, mops, filters, nets on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14.\n&nbsp;Evaluates their (Laundry Supervisor I,\nCF) performance and takes\/recommends appropriate action to meet probationary\nrequirements utilizing Individual Development Plans (IDP), Probationary Reports\nand classification specifications, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15.\n&nbsp;Supervises inmates in the receiving,\nmarking\/sorting, wrapping, and distributing of laundry for the institution\nutilizing plastic bags, laundry carts, markers, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16.\n&nbsp;Supervises inmates in the preparation\nand use of soaps, starches, bluing and bleaching solutions, and approved\nwashing formulas to extend the life of the clothing utilizing washing formulas,\nmachine settings, and manufactures guidelines, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17.\n&nbsp;Supervises inmates in the operation of\nwashers, starch cookers, extractors, wringers, dryers, flatwork ironers,\npresses, and sterilizers in order to ensure proper use of equipment on a daily\nbasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18.\n&nbsp;Assists inmates in the performance of\ntasks (e.g., minor repairs on laundry equipment and machinery) in order to\nmaintain equipment utilizing manufactures\u2019 guidelines, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19.\n&nbsp;Makes inspections of the laundry\nfacility and maintains approved laundry practices and standards of safety and\nsanitation, utilizing visual observation and inspection logs, on a daily basis.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20.\n&nbsp;Requisition of chemicals and parts for\nthe laundry facility to ensure the continued operation and maintenance of\nequipment utilizing ordering and purchasing forms, on a monthly basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21.\n&nbsp;Receives\/inspects\/stores chemicals and\nparts for the laundry facility to ensure appropriate products are received and\nstored correctly for accountability purposes by reviewing the ordering and\npurchasing forms, on a monthly basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22.\n&nbsp;Inventories supplies for the laundry\nfacility in order to ensure adequate materials are available utilizing\ninspection sheets, visual observation, IIPP, Safety Data Sheets and Store Room\nOrder Supply (Std. 115), on a monthly basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23.\n&nbsp;Keeps records for the inmates (e.g., time\ncards) and prepares reports (e.g., performance and violation [Disciplinary\nHearing Worksheet (CDC 115b), General Chrono (CDC 128)] and documents [e.g.,\nWork Supervisors Report (CDC 101)] in order to ensure accurate time\ncalculations, per DOM and Title 15. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>24.\n&nbsp;Maintains order and conduct of inmates\ncommitted to the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (CDCR) by\ncoordinating searches of inmates, work areas utilizing appropriate equipment\n(e.g., flashlights, mirrors, gloves) to ensure a safe and secure work\nenvironment, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>25.\n&nbsp;Supervises the conduct of inmates\ncommitted to the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation utilizing\norientation and training material (e.g., Right to Know, SDS, IIPP) to ensure a\nsafe and secure work environment, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>26.\n&nbsp;Prevents escapes\/injury of inmates to\nthemselves or others (e.g., staff, vendors, visitors) or to property utilizing\ncounts and IIPP procedures per Code of Safe Practices, DOM, and Title 15, on a\ndaily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>27.\n&nbsp;Maintains security of working areas and\nwork materials utilizing key control procedures by ensuring locks are properly\nfunctioning, and work areas where keys are stored and secured utilizing methods\nof accountability (e.g., issuance, storage, and key control), per DOM, on a\ndaily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28.\n&nbsp;<strong>Inspects\npremises and searches inmates for contraband, (e.g, weapons or illegal drugs)\nin order to maintain the safety and security of the institution utilizing\nphysical pat downs with the assistance of custody staff, on a daily basis.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>29.\n&nbsp;<strong>Properly\nstore all hazardous chemicals per SB 198 to ensure a safe environment and to\nprovide accurate information and training, labeling, inventory control, waste\nminimization, monitoring, appropriate disposal and compliance with county,\nState and Federal regulations including but not limited to California Code of\nRegulations (CCR) Title 8, Title 22, Title 27, DOM utilizing resources (e.g.,\nmaterial safety data sheets, Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL), nationally\nrecognized scientific publications, laboratory analysis, product labeling,\ncounty, State and Federal regulations including but not limited to Title 8,\nTitle 22, Title 27, etc.) on a continuous basis.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30.\n&nbsp;<strong>Observe\/conduct\nsearches of vehicles entering\/exiting a walled\/fenced inner perimeter Clothing Room staff inquiries regarding status of laundered items in order\nto meet the distribution guidelines for the return of inmate clothing\/bedding\nutilizing telephone calls, on a daily basis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>32.\n&nbsp;<strong>Obtains\nprice quotes from local vendors in order to provide sewing room supplies by\ncontacting vendors utilizing telephones, emails, and faxes, as
