1.\n Establish the preventive pest control\nprogram to promote the health and safety of the institution utilizing Statewide\nAutomated Preventive System (SAPMS), Business Information System (BIS), Integrated\nPest Management Program (IPM), Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS),\nDepartment of Operations Manual (DOM), California Code of Regulations (CCR)\nTitle 3 and Title 15 and the Structural Pest Control Act, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.\n Inspect all areas of institutional\nbuildings and grounds to determine the presence of vertebrate\/invertebrate\npests by conducting visual inspections, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.\n Eliminate pests through the use of\npesticides and material to promote the health and safety of the institution, as\nnecessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.\n Make minor and\/or initiate work order\nrepairs (e.g., filling holes in walls, adding caulking, screen material, etc.)\nto the institution to prevent pest entry or control infestation, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.\n Order pest control materials and\nsupplies (e.g., chemicals, traps, sprayers, personal protective equipment\n[PPE], etc.) in the performance of daily duties, as necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.\n Check equipment (e.g., cleaning spray\ntips, checking hoses for holes or cracks, inspecting holding tanks, etc.) to\nmaintain proper functionality in the performance of daily duties, as necessary.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.\n Train\/instruct institutional staff and\ninmates\/youthful offenders in the methods of pest infestation prevention\nutilizing product labels, on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.\n Cooperate with public health officials\nduring inspections to identify the recommendations and make the necessary\nchanges to be in compliance utilizing professional knowledge, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.\n Maintain daily records of infestations\nto verify accurate information is provided to institution staff, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11.\n Maintain daily records of remedial\nactions taken at the institution to verify completed staff work, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.\n Prepare the County Agriculture\nDepartment usage report summarizing the list of pesticides used, total amount\nof each pesticide applied, and total number of applications utilizing the\nperpetual inventory log (CDCR Form 2280), as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

13.\n Establish a preventative pest control\nprogram to maintain operational needs of the institution, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.\n Monitor the preventative pest control\nprogram in the institution to meet operational needs, as mandated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15.\n Maintain order and supervise the conduct\nof persons committed to the California Department of Corrections and\nRehabilitation (CDCR) to promote the safety and security of the institution, as\nmandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.\n Prevent escapes and injury by persons\ncommitted to CDCR to promote the safety and security of the institution, as\nmandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.\n Maintain security of working areas to\npromote the safety and security of the institution, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.\n Inspect premises and search\ninmates\/youthful offenders for contraband (i.e., weapons, illegal drugs, cell\nphones, etc.) to promote the safety and security of the institution, as\nmandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

19.\n Provide safety training (e.g., Safety\nData Sheets [SDS], PPE, product labels, etc.] to staff and inmates\/youthful\noffenders to comply with safety regulations utilizing Injury Illness Prevention\nProgram (IIPP) and Code of Safe Practices as mandated by Senate Bill 198. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

20.\n Use PPE (e.g., safety glasses\/goggles,\ngloves, Tyvek suits, respirator protection, etc.) when applying product and\nmaterial to prevent exposure to pesticides and materials in compliance with the\npesticide label instructions, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

21.\n Uses PPE when mixing and loading\npesticides and materials to prevent exposure to pesticides and materials in\ncompliance with the pesticide label instructions, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

22.\n Set traps or glue boards utilizing\nmanufacturer\u2019s instructions in and around the institution areas of expected\nactivity to control or eliminate rodents, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

23.\n Apply bait by distributing into cracks\nand crevices in and around the institution utilizing a gel gun or syringe or by\nplacement of bait stations to eliminate pest infestation according to the\nmanufacturer\u2019s label, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

24.\n Spread pesticide granules (e.g.,\nMaxforce, Delta Gard, Extinguish, etc.) with broadcaster spreader around the\nexterior structure of the institution or on lawns to prevent possible pest\ninfestation, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

25.\n Inject pesticide (e.g., Demon Max,\nTermidor, Cykick, etc.) into institutional structural wall voids utilizing a\nduster or by drilling holes and spraying with space sprayer to eliminate pest\ninfestation, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

26.\n Apply pesticide in cracks and crevices\nin or around the institution utilizing crack and crevice injection equipment or\nhand sprayer to eliminate pest infestation, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

27.\n Apply pesticide around doorframes,\nthresholds and baseboards in or around the institution utilizing crack and\ncrevice equipment or hand sprayer to eliminate pest infestation, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

28.\n Apply pesticide utilizing compressed\nair, hand sprayer or space sprayer to treat pests in or around the institution\nto eliminate pest infestation, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

29.\n Apply pesticide utilizing power sprayer\nto the outer perimeter of the institutional grounds to control active pest\ninfestation, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

30.\n Perform visual inspection of locks on\nthe pesticide storage facility to prevent illegal and unauthorized entry\nutilizing the Institutional Operational Procedure Plan, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

37.\n Dispose empty pesticide containers to\nprevent contamination of ground water and nontarget exposure to pesticides\nutilizing manufacturer\u2019s specifications and county regulations, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

38.\n Inventory the pesticide storage facility\nto verify the types of pesticides and material are stored accurately to prevent\ncontamination of ground water and non- target exposure to pesticides in\ncompliance with pesticide label instructions, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

39.\n Inspect the pesticide storage facility\nventilation system to verify compliance with fire department requirements\nutilizing Safety Data Sheets and pesticide labels, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

40.\n Rotate the location of pesticides and\nmaterials based on shelf life to maintain the potency of pesticides utilizing\nthe first in first out (FIFO) rotational method, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
