Establish programs to maintain\nsafety\/security and prepare youth for successful re-integration into the\ncommunity utilizing treatment, discipline, assignment, recreation, and\neducation of youth, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Supervise programs to maintain\nsafety\/security and prepare youth for successful re-integration into the\ncommunity utilizing treatment, discipline, assignment, recreation, and\neducation of youth, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Supervise staff in the performance of\ntheir daily duties to effectively provide treatment utilizing written\/verbal\ncommunication, training, and progressive discipline, in accordance with\ngovernmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Participate on the facility\u2019s\nmanagement team to collaborate and ensure operational efficiency among\ninter-disciplinary sections utilizing effective communication and interpersonal\nskills, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Develop operational policies and\nprocedures to provide treatment, training, custody and discipline to youth\nutilizing trends, principles and techniques of the development of treatment\nprograms, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Serve as a chairperson on the\nJuvenile Justice Administrative Committee (JJAC) to assess and properly place\nyouth in programs utilizing the California Youth Assessment and Screening\nInstrument (CA-YASI), Youth Integrated Re-entry Assessment, Youth Integrated\nRe-Entry Plan, and youth history, in accordance with governmental codes and\nregulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Conduct inquiries and respond to\ngrievances and Disciplinary-Decision Making System (DDMS) appeals to ensure\nyouth constitutional rights and privileges are maintained\/protected utilizing\ndue process, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. Monitor treatment programs and\noperational systems to maintain integrity and protection of due process\nutilizing youth databases and monthly\/quarterly audits, in accordance with\ngovernmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. Review decisions made by other staff\nfor the protection of due process for youth utilizing investigations, fact finding\nreports, disposition committee report, etc., in accordance with governmental\ncodes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. Make decisions\/recommendations on\ndifficult treatment and custodial problems to ensure proper placement and\ntreatment of youth utilizing re-entry plan, re-assessment of CA-YASI, and\nperiodic review of the youth risk\/needs assessment, in accordance with\ngovernmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11. Audit post assignment schedules and\nproper staff coverage to maintain budget and utilizing departmental policies\/procedures\nand Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), in accordance with governmental codes\nand regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12. Supervise staff to maintain\neffective programs\/services and required job work performance utilizing\ntraining needs assessments, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline\nguidelines, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13. Oversee staff attendance and work\nschedules to produce an effective workforce and maintain positive morale\nutilizing reports, meetings, assignments, and the MOUs, in accordance with\ngovernmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14. Promote cooperative working\nrelationships among internal and external stakeholders for successful custody\nand treatment of youth utilizing volunteers, effective communication, meetings,\nand interpersonal skills, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15. Monitor staff and youth involved in\nvarious programs to provide opportunities for rehabilitation and restorative\njustice for youth utilizing Behavior Management System (BMS), intervention\ngroups, employment\/vocational programs, education, camps, etc., in accordance\nwith governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16. Prepare written documents, analysis,\nand proposals to provide information to institutional committees, local management,\nand Division of Juvenile Justice Headquarters utilizing software programs,\ndatabases, correspondence and reports, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17. Support facility operations to\nmaintain healthy, safe, secure and sanitary living conditions utilizing safety\nmeetings, reports, audits, and proper use of equipment\/tools, in accordance\nwith governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18. Manage fiscal resources for\nefficient program operations and to work within budgetary constraints utilizing\nrecords, reports, and audits, in accordance with governmental codes and\nregulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19. Perform the duties of the Assistant\nSuperintendent and\/or Superintendent in his\/her absence to maintain continuity\nof facility operations, programs and ensure safety\/security during emergency\nsituations utilizing effective communication and adhering to the emergency\npreparedness plan, as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20. Recommend the establishment and\nrevision of policies to maintain evidence based principles and trends utilizing\nthe Integrated Behavior Treatment Model (IBTM), audits, and reports, in\naccordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21. Maintain program standards and\nmonitoring criteria to consistently deliver treatment services to youth\nutilizing the IBTM mandates, intervention groups, case reports, BMS, and staff\ntraining, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22. Act as a liaison with other\ndepartments and outside stakeholders to communicate information and coordinate\nefforts\/services utilizing effective communication, meetings, and shared\nresources, in accordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23. Represent the Department as a\nsubject matter expert in legal proceedings, legislative hearings, negotiations,\nconferences and\/or task forces to obtain and report information utilizing\neffective communication, meetings, and shared resources, in accordance with\ngovernmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>24. Participate in the Progressive\nDiscipline process to correct\/improve employee performance\/behavior utilizing\neffective communication skills, training, performance evaluations, etc., in\naccordance with governmental codes and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>27.
