in\nestablishing uniformity and continuity of custody and security to ensure the\nsafety of the facility, using Departmental policies\/procedures, under the\ndirection of the Watch Transmit\ninformation and administrative directives to staff to ensure compliance with Departmental\npolicies\/procedures, using memos, log books, emails, etc., on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.&nbsp; Communicate\nobservations and impressions of youthful offender behavior to appropriate staff\nto ensure the facility\u2019s safety and security, using radios, phones, verbal\ninstructions, etc., on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.&nbsp; Train staff in\nsecurity procedures to remain in compliance with laws, rules and regulations,\nusing training methods (e.g., In-Service-Training, on-the-job training,\ncomputer based training), on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.&nbsp; Assure the\nsecurity, safety, and order of the facility to protect staff, youthful\noffenders and the public, using existing Departmental policies\/procedures, on\nan ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11.&nbsp; Ensure that staff\ntake appropriate corrective action to hold youthful offenders accountable,\nusing training, Disciplinary Decision Making System, Positive Check System, as\nneeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12.&nbsp; Control issuance\nof keys, radios, personal alarms, and other security equipment to ensure that\nall sensitive equipment is accounted for, using policies\/procedures, on an\nongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13.&nbsp; Monitor the\nsecurity communications systems (e.g. personal alarm, security sound, two-way\nradio, intercom, telephone) to ensure the safe operation of the facility, using\nthe facilities operations manual, on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14.&nbsp; Supervise staff\nto ensure the safety and security of the facility, using existing\npolicies\/procedures, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15.&nbsp; Notify the Watch\nCommander of emergency situations to initiate notification protocol, using\ntelephone, e-mail, two-way radio, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16.&nbsp; Reconcile\nfacility counts to ensure accountability of all youthful offenders, using\nestablished policies\/procedures (e.g., count boards, computer database), on a\ndaily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17.&nbsp; Maintain\nappropriate log books to ensure information is properly documented and recorded,\nusing computer databases, on a daily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18.&nbsp; Review\ndocumentation of new commitments and referrals into the facilities to ensure accurate\ndata is entered, using computer databases, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19.&nbsp; Oversee new\ncommitments and referrals into the facilities to ensure compliance, using\nintake policies\/procedures, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20.\u00a0 Fingerprint new commitments to link relevant records of arrest and prosecution, using Live Scan machine, computer systems, etc., as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21.\u00a0 Prepare the intake process of new commitments assigned to the facility to ensure youthful offenders are successfully integrated using Departmental policies\/procedures, computer systems, Live Scan, etc., as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22.&nbsp; Make\nrecommendations related to plans and policies\/procedures, within the work unit\nto facilitate improvements\/updates, using written\/verbal requests, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23.&nbsp; Evaluate work of\nsubordinate employees to ensure job performance is up to department standards,\nusing procedural standards (e.g., performance evaluations, staff personnel\nfiles, on-the-job training), on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>24.&nbsp; Write performance\nreports on subordinate employees job performance to provide feedback and encourage\nhigh quality performance using the Behavior Anchor Rating System, as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>25.&nbsp; Initiate\nappropriate disciplinary or other
