class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Task Statements: <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1. &nbsp;Responsible for ensuring 24 hour a day staff\ncoverage in Unit to provide service to law enforcement agencies, the Department\nand the public utilizing automated systems (e.g., Offender Based Information\nSystem (OBIS), Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS), California Law\nEnforcement Telecommunication System (CLETS), National Crime Information Center\n(NCIC), Distributed Data Processing System (DDPS), Cal Parole, and Revocation\nScheduling and Tracking System (RSTS), Departmental Operations Manual (DOM),\nPenal Code, Title 15, knowledge, telephone, and scheduling as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. &nbsp;Supervise staff to produce work utilizing\nDepartmental Operations Manual (DOM), Penal Code, Title 15 knowledge, desk\nmanuals, training classes, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. &nbsp;Monitor staff work assignments, vacations, and\nsick leave usage to ensure coverage utilizing knowledge, vacation and sick\nleave requests, documentation, and schedules as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. &nbsp;Prepare performance evaluations, counseling\nmemorandums, and progressive discipline documentation for staff utilizing\ncommunication skills, bargaining unit contracts, laws and regulations, as\nrequired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. &nbsp;Ensure each employee receives training\npertaining to specific laws, rules and office policies and procedures through\non-the-job training and\/or outside sources to produce trained\/knowledgeable\nstaff as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. &nbsp;Respond to the most difficult and complex\nissues (e.g., Warrants, database system failures, etc.) to ensure compliance\nwith departmental policies, State and Federal mandates utilizing knowledge,\ntelephone, office manuals, and computer systems, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. &nbsp;Retrieve information from various database\ncomputer systems and policy memorandums to provide responses to various\nentities utilizing computer systems, Penal Code, Title 15, and DOJ as\nneeded\/requested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. &nbsp;Interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations,\npolicies, and terminology unique to the California Department of Corrections\nand Rehabilitation (CDCR), Department of Justice (DOJ), and the law enforcement\nfield to ensure compliance utilizing knowledge, law, rules, policies, and\nprocedures, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. &nbsp;Function as the subject matter expert to\ndepartmental staff, and law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance and\nprovide guidance utilizing knowledge, office manuals, rules and regulations, as\nneeded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. &nbsp;Act as a consultant\/liaison between law enforcement\nagencies, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)\nDivisions to resolve issues regarding inmates\/parolees utilizing knowledge,\ninterpersonal skills, office manuals, laws, rules, computer systems, policies\nand procedures, as needed\/required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11. &nbsp;Ensure the Unit meets all work commitments on\na timely basis utilizing knowledge, office manuals, computer data bases and\nsupervisory skills, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12. &nbsp;Maintain the integrity of the CA Law\nEnforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) and Offender Based Information\nSystem (OBIS) systems to be in compliance with mandated rules and regulations\nutilizing knowledge, manuals and computer data bases, as mandated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13. &nbsp;Conduct training for staff to ensure\ncompliance with State and Federal regulations utilizing knowledge, training\nmaterials, and communication skills as required for CLETS and the National\nCrime Information Center (NCIC) by Department of Justice (DOJ), as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14. &nbsp;Keep abreast of new rules and regulations\nregarding Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS), Distributed Data\nProcessing System (DDPS), CLETS, CalParole, Revocation Scheduling and Tracking\nSystem (RSTS) and OBIS to inform staff and ensure compliance utilizing\nknowledge and informational meetings, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15. &nbsp;Develop office procedures to implement new\nrules and regulations utilizing knowledge, manuals, written directives, and\nmeetings, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16. &nbsp;Participate in the hiring process in order to\nfill identified vacant position(s) utilizing interpersonal communication skills\nand various departmental forms in accordance with departmental hiring policies\nand procedures, and SPB laws and rules as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17.<strong> &nbsp;Monitor employee issues\ncontributing to a hostile work environment (e.g., inability to work with\nothers), and to maintain compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)\npolicy, DOM, and other personnel requirements, using bargaining unit contracts,\nDOM, EEO\/sexual harassment laws and rules, and Title 15, as needed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18. &nbsp;Develop correspondence, justifications and\nmemorandums in order to communicate utilizing professional knowledge and\nexperience, laws, rules, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures\nas needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19. &nbsp;Review policies and procedures and resource\nmaterials in order to effectively train and direct staff in the performance of\ntheir duties utilizing professional knowledge and experience as directed by\nmanagement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20. &nbsp;Establish, promote, and maintain confident and\ncooperative working relationships with all departmental staff, State agencies,\nand private organizations in order to meet the Department\u2019s goals and\nobjectives, promote communication\/participation, enhance morale and productivity\nutilizing interpersonal communication skills and professional knowledge and\nexperience on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21. &nbsp;Train employees on the use of CDCR computer\ndatabase systems (Offender Base Information Systems (OBIS), CalParole,\nCorrectional Offender Management Profiling for Alternative Sanctions (COMPASS),\nParolee Automated Cash Assistance On-line Tracking System (PACATS), Business\nInformation Systems (BIS), CDCR Intranet Inmate Locator, California Law\nEnforcement Telecommunication System (CLETS), Datamaxx for processing parole\nholds and releases, Revocation Scheduling Tracking Systems (RSTS)), to process\nassigned tasks, utilizing communication skills, knowledge, available resources,\nas required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>22. &nbsp;Address and resolve staff issues in order for the\noffice to run smoothly using effective communication skills and tact, knowledge\nof departmental
