these\ntasks.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Task Statements:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\n&nbsp;Train students in career technical\neducation skills in order to assist them to be productive and contributing\nmembers of society utilizing the approved curriculum, various teaching\nmethodologies, etc. as mandated per the direction of the Office of Correctional\nEducation (OCE) and California Education Authority (CEA) as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\n&nbsp;Participate as a member of an\ninterdisciplinary treatment team (e.g., custody, academic, vocational, etc.) to\nfulfill court mandates and specialized treatment requirements utilizing subject\nmatter expertise, observational and\/or collaborative skills, etc. as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\nCollaborates with outside agencies to provide support materials and resources,\nutilizing communication, interpersonal skills, knowledge and organizational\nskills, per approved departmental policy, mandated laws and curriculum\nframeworks on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.\n&nbsp;Report the outcome of classroom\nactivities to evaluate and improve methods and techniques of providing services\nto students utilizing data, subject matter expertise, observational and\/or\ncollaborative skills, etc. as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.\n&nbsp;Supervise the conduct of students while\nin the classroom or shop within a state correctional adult school or juvenile\ncorrectional facility high school to assume general custody responsibility in\ntime of emergency utilizing communication and classroom management skills, etc.\non an on-going basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.\n&nbsp;Implement competency-based\ninstruction\/training and direct supervision to meet or exceed the occupational\ntrade standards by utilizing skill and behavior development on an ongoing\nbasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.\n&nbsp;Provide instruction, training, and\nsupervision to students to educate in the classroom and\/or shop of an\neducational program within a state correctional adult school or juvenile\ncorrectional facility high school utilizing visual aids and vocational\nequipment on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.\n&nbsp;Develop appropriate lesson plans for\nstudents with curriculum to meet the needs of the students in order to fulfill\neducational mandates per the direction of OCE\/CEA on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.\n&nbsp;Communicate in a professional and\neffective manner with others (e.g., faculty, staff, students) to establish and\nmaintain effective working relationships in all situations utilizing tact and\ninterpersonal communication skills, on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.\nImplement the identified reasonable accommodations for students according to\ntheir referrals and assessments in order to support the students\u2019 with special\nneeds utilizing various assessments, instructional methods and\nstrategies\/techniques in accordance with Federal and State laws, on an ongoing\nbasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11.\nCounsel students to provide feedback regarding their participation in an\ninstructional program by setting goals and measuring progress on an ongoing\nbasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12.\nEvaluate new training materials and equipment via community contacts or\ntraining seminars to keep up with current standards\/trends in the industry on\nan ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13.\nDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs of students\u2019 various skill levels\nby assessing the individual student\u2019s knowledge and experience (e.g. skills\ntests, hands-on test, written test) on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14.\n&nbsp;Participate in the administration and\nsecurity of standardized testing in order to ensure assessment results are\nvalid utilizing the required testing protocols and procedures on an ongoing\nbasis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>15.\nParticipate in the delivery of educational support services to students in\norder to meet the individual student\u2019s educational needs and ensure compliance\nwith all Federal, State and departmental mandates, utilizing various resources\non an on-going basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16.\nParticipate in the delivery and use of course content and training materials to\naid in the education and rehabilitation process of students utilizing (e.g.,\nevidence based teaching methodologies, California Department of Education\nCurriculum Standards, and student assessment results\/scores) as necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17.\nGather information and documentation needed in order to purchase equipment,\ninstructional materials and supplies, to meet the needs of students and\nfaculty\/staff, utilizing the procurement process as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18.\nMonitor all classroom and or shop supplies, materials and equipment to ensure\nagainst loss, misuse, and the potential use as a weapon utilizing observation,\norganizational and classroom management skills, etc. on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19.\nAttend on and offsite professional development and staff meetings to remain\ncurrent in required and mandatory training utilizing institutional\/ internet\nresources, and communication skills, etc. as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20.\nProvide supervision of students in order to maintain security of work areas and\nmaterials, and prevent escape or injury by students to themselves, others or\nproperty as dictated by the department policy and procedures, by utilizing\npersonal observation, reviewing reports and effective communication on an\nongoing basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>21.\nParticipate in professional development on assessments\/identification\ninstructional methods and strategies\/techniques to support students with\nspecial needs
