Supervise the operation of a water treatment\nand\/or sewage treatment plant in order to deliver quality drinking water and\ncompliant effluent waste water to end users utilizing testing, analysis, and\ncorrective treatment processes to ensure compliance with health and safety\nstandards, Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Title 22, and the State Water\nResources Control Board (SWRCB), as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\n&nbsp;Direct the taking of daily tests of\nwater and sewage in various stages of treatment and personally make the more involved\nanalyses to produce potable water utilizing testing and calibration equipment\n(e.g. chlorine analyzer, pH analyzers, and chemicals, etc.) in accordance with\nthe institution operational procedures, SDWA, Title 22, and SWRCB, as required.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\n&nbsp;Supervise adult\/youthful offender in\ncleaning, painting, and the upkeep of equipment (e.g. motors, pumps, pipes,\netc.) in order to extend the functional life of the equipment utilizing basic\nhand and power tools in accordance with the Standard Automated Preventative\nMaintenance Systems (SAPMS), Original Equipment Manufactured specifications,\nTitle 22 and the SWRCB, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.\n&nbsp;Perform cleaning, painting, and the\nupkeep of equipment (e.g. motors, pumps, pipes, etc.) in order to extend the\nfunctional life of the equipment utilizing basic hand and power tools in\naccordance with the Standard Automated Preventative Maintenance Systems\n(SAPMS), Original Equipment Manufactured specifications, Title 22 and the\nSWRCB, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp; Operate swimming pools and mechanical\/related\nequipment (e.g. pumps, clarifiers, analyzers, compressors, etc.) in order to\nproduce a potable and compliant product utilizing staff and adult\/youthful\noffenders in accordance with the institution operational procedures, SDWA,\nTitle 22, and SWRCB, on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.\n&nbsp;Direct adult\/youthful offenders in the\noperation of swimming pools and mechanical\/related equipment (e.g. pumps,\nclarifiers, analyzers, compressors, etc.) in order to produce a potable and\ncompliant product utilizing the knowledge of the plant standards in accordance\nwith the institution operational procedures, SDWA, Title 22, and SWRCB, on a\ndaily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.\n&nbsp;Operate equipment as a relief operator\nwhen necessary in order to provide adequate coverage in accordance with the\ninstitutional operational procedures, SDWA, Title 22 and the SWRCB, as\nrequired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.\n&nbsp;Supervise assistants (e.g.\nadult\/youthful offenders, contractors, staff, etc.) to complete daily\noperations of treatment facilities utilizing supervisory knowledge and skills\nin accordance with the institution operational procedures and Standard\nOperational Procedures (SOP), as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.\n&nbsp;Perform minor plumbing duties in\nconnection with water and sewage plant systems in order to maintain and repair\nplumbing in the treatment facility, utilizing basic hand and power tools, in\naccordance with the institution operational procedures, SDWA, Title 22, and\nSWRCB, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.\n&nbsp;Interpret tests and determine necessary\nchanges in dosage and treatment processes to produce potable water and\ncompliant effluent water utilizing test results, meter readings, necessary\nchemicals, chemical feed pumps, etc. in accordance with SDWA, Title 22, and\nSWRCB, as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11.\n&nbsp;Supervise adult\/youthful offenders\ncommitted to the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation in order to\nmaintain order and conduct utilizing institutional counts, searches, and\ntraining (e.g. Injury Illness Prevention Program, Inmate Work Incentive\nProgram, and Tailgate Safety Meeting, etc.) in accordance with the institution\noperational procedures, Departmental Operations Manual (DOM), and Title 15, on\na daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12.\n&nbsp;Prevent escapes of adult\/youthful\noffenders in order to maintain the safety and security of the institution and\nthe public utilizing visual contact, tool and key control, and institutional\ncounts in accordance with the institution operational procedures, DOM and Title\n15, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13.\n&nbsp;Prevent injury of adult\/youthful\noffenders in order to maintain the safety and security of the institution and\nthe public utilizing visual contact, tool and key control, and the\ninstitutional counts in accordance with institution operational procedures, DOM\nand Title 15, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14.\n&nbsp;Conduct searches of adult\/youthful\noffenders and the premises for contraband (e.g. weapons, illegal drugs,\nelectronic devices, etc.) in order to provide a safe and secure work\nenvironment utilizing skills and techniques in accordance with the institution operational\nprocedures, DOM, and Title 15, as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>15.&nbsp; Add chemicals (e.g. ammonia, chlorine, or\nlime, etc.) to disinfect and deodorize water in order to provide potable water\nand compliant effluent water utilizing feed pumps, meter readings, and water\nsamples in accordance with SDWA, Title 22, and SWRCB, as required. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16.&nbsp; Monitor status of equipment to meet load\nrequirements and detect possible malfunctions utilizing the Supervisory Control\nand Data Acquisition (SCADA), meters and gauges in accordance with SDWA, Title\n22, and SWRCB, as required. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>17.&nbsp; Collect and test water\/sewage samples to\nensure it is potable and compliant utilizing SCADA, appropriate sample\ntechniques (e.g. bottling, labeling, etc.) and completion of the Chain of\nCustody form in accordance with SDWA, Title 22, and the SWRCB, as required. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>18.&nbsp; Record daily plant activities (e.g.\nemergencies, water samples, climate changes, etc.) to determine plant\nprocesses\/adjustments utilizing meters, monitors, staff in accordance with\nSDWA, Title 22, and SWRCB, on a daily basis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>19.&nbsp; Report plant activities (e.g. daily, monthly,\nquarterly, etc.) in order to remain in compliance utilizing visual inspections,\nmeter readings, and field samples in accordance with SDWA, Title 22, and the\nSWRCB, on a daily basis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>20.&nbsp; Inspect equipment, structures\/materials to\nidentify possible system operational malfunctions utilizing meters, audible\nalarms and visual inspections in accordance with SOP, on a daily basis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>21.&nbsp; Perform chemical and laboratory tests to\ndetermine the effectiveness of water treatment systems utilizing lab equipment\n(e.g. bottles, chemical agents, test results, etc.) in accordance with SDWA,\nTitle 22, and SWRCB, as required.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>22.&nbsp; Report security risks to custody staff to\nensure a safe and secure environment by utilizing radios, telephones, and\nwritten and verbal communication, in accordance with the institutional\noperational procedures and DOM, as needed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>23.&nbsp; Maintain adult\/youthful offenders\u2019 records to\nensure accurate time keeping and attendance utilizing the Strategic Offender\nManagement System (SOMS) in accordance with the institution operational\nprocedures and DOM, as needed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>24.&nbsp; Communicate effectively with other operators,\nsupervisors, and other trades people in order to resolve possible system\noperational malfunctions utilizing cell phones, radios, and computers, in\naccordance with SOP, Title 15, and DOM, on a daily basis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>25.&nbsp; Perform periodic operating checks of plant\nequipment [e.g. pumping systems, chemical feeders, auxiliary equipment\n(compressors), etc.] in order to ensure proper operation of equipment utilizing\nSCADA and visual inspections, in accordance with SOP, on a daily basis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>26.&nbsp; Project annual budget in order to procure\nequipment and supplies utilizing procurement procedures [e.g. bids, service\ncontracts (S&amp;Es), purchase requisitions, etc.] in accordance with the\ninstitution operational procedures and DOM, as needed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>27.\u00a0 Secure work areas in order to prevent injuries and accidents utilizing placing barricade signs and traffic cones in accordance with the institution operational procedures and Cal\/OSHA, as needed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>28.&nbsp; Observe pump motors to detect unusual noises,\nvibrations, or excessive heat in order to prevent premature failure of the\nequipment utilizing SAPMS (e.g. audio, visual, thermal inspections, etc.) in\naccordance with the institution operational procedures, and DOM, as needed. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>29.&nbsp;
