Task Statements:<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1.  Supervise employees and persons committed to the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) engaged in horticulture (e.g., planting, cultivating, etc.) and caring for trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, lawns, and various ground covers to ensure compliance,  state and institutional policies\/procedures, duty statements and verbal\/written communication, on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.  Supervise the use and maintenance of gardening tools and equipment to maintain the safety\/security of the institution, using Departmental policies\/procedures, tool control, inspections and inventory, on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.  Direct employees and persons committed to CDCR in their work to maintain the safety\/security of the institution, using Departmental policies\/procedures, verbal\/written communication and personal experience, on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.  Instruct employees and persons committed to CDCR in their work to maintain the safety\/security of the institution, using Departmental policies\/procedures, verbal\/written communication and personal experience, on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13.  Direct the preparation of athletic fields for various sports and athletic events to ensure continued use, using work orders and preventative maintenance, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.  Maintain the proper drainage system for grounds or roadside plantings to prevent erosion and insect infestation, using design criteria and equipment (e.g., bobcat, backhoe, pumps, etc.), as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15.  Make minor repairs and adjustments to sprinkling systems to maintain proper working conditions, using sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, etc., as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.  Maintain time and cost records to assist in budgeting, using work orders and preventative maintenance, as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.  Assist in the preparation of the grounds maintenance budget to obtain funding, using research skills and past reports, annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18. Inspect contract landscaping work for compliance with contract specifications to meet state and local regulations\/codes, using blue prints and visual inspections, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

19.  Maintain order of persons committed to CDCR to ensure safety and security, using Departmental policies\/procedures, on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20.  Supervise the conduct of persons committed to CDCR to ensure safety and security, using Departmental policies\/procedures, on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
