CARE Grants will be awarded to eligible non-profit organizations to fund programs that provide insight-oriented, transformative justice programs focused on increasing empathy and accountability among participants that can demonstrate that the approach has produced, or will produce, a positive outcome in one or more California prisons. The grant will run from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025 and provide $5 million in grants per year for three terms.
All applicants are encouraged to submit a Notice of Intent to Apply on CDCR’s website by January 5, 2022.
All applications must be received via email at innovativegrants@cdcr.ca.gov by 5:00 PM on or before January 26, 2022.
