CMHEP is a statewide initiative to reduce mental health disparities by expanding access to culturally and linguistically responsive behavioral health care in California. CMHEP provide no-cost training and technical assistance to county behavioral health departments and community-based organizations working toward mental health equity across the state. CMHEP is a joint collaboration between the California Department of Public Health, Office of Health Equity (CDPH-OHE), and the California Department of Health Care Services, Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Division (DHCS-MCBHD).
Help define the future of California’s Cultural Competence Plans!
Ethnic Services Managers, community-based organizations, and Behavioral Health Directors are invited to participate in Listening Sessions about county CCP community planning, implementation, and evaluation efforts. CMHEP would like to hear your thoughts as champions of mental health equity, cultural brokers, and experts of your local community.
Listening sessions are a great way to hear about system challenges and innovative solutions from community perspectives. Your feedback as a key stakeholder will help us plan programming, facilitate continued statewide discussions around behavioral health equity, and inform updated state CCP guidance (see DHCS Information Notices 10-02 and 10-17).
