Behavioral Health Justice Intervention Services

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded DHCS funding to support BHJIS, which aims to improve California’s behavioral health systems and services by improving first responder, law enforcement, and other community efforts to address behavioral health crises. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) recently announced the recipients of awards for the Behavioral Health Justice Intervention Services (BHJIS) funding opportunity. As a result of the BHJIS Request for Application, 34 awards were given, totaling in over $14 million in grant funding.
