The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) is the only federal agency with the sole mission of preventing and ending homelessness in America. They coordinate with their 19 federal member agencies, state and local governments, and the private sector to create partnerships, use resources in the most efficient and effective ways, and implement evidence-based best practices. The current Declaration of Public Health Emergency for COVID-19 will expire April 16. This new tool identifies federal funding, flexibilities, and waivers linked to the public health emergency as well as others set to expire in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022. All may impact homelessness prevention and intervention.
The status and timeline of these provisions continue to evolve. For questions, contact your USICH regional coordinator.
