Courting Judicial Excellence in Juvenile Justice: A 50‑State Study Report

The Council of State Governments Justice Center and The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges recently release Courting Judicial Excellence in Juvenile Justice: A 50-State Study. The report examines how courts in all 50 states that handle juvenile delinquency cases (“juvenile courts”) are structured and operated. States can use the report to identify gaps in their juvenile court policies and practices, identify best practices and innovations from other states, and advance a set of policy and practice recommendations for court improvement.

A webinar will be held on June 2, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 AM PST to provide an overview of the report and allow states an opportunity to learn what they can do to strengthen their juvenile court system to ensure that youth systems are efficient, effective, and equitable.
