CSG: How to Use an Integrated Approach to Address the Mental Health Needs of Youth in the Justice System 

More than 65 percent of youth who are arrested every year have mental health conditions. Often, these youth have needs have untreated or misdiagnosed needs, leading to engagement in the juvenile justice system. The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center’s latest brief identifies the collaborative role that juvenile justice stakeholders can play in helping to prevent or reduce youth involvement in the justice system by addressing their mental health needs.
