When: July 15, 2022, from 2:00pm-4:00pm PDT
Description: Please join the California Health & Human Services Agency (CalHHS), in partnership with its departments, for a webinar on the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI).
The challenges of today’s world are deeply affecting the mental health and wellbeing of children and youth. The trauma, social isolation, and stress of the pandemic, which disproportionately impacted some individuals, families, and communities, including children and youth of color, LGBTQ+ youth, low-income families and underserved communities, exacerbated the behavioral health challenges children and youth were already facing. The CYBHI aims to build a coordinated ecosystem promoting social and emotional well-being, preventing behavioral health challenges, and providing equitable, appropriate, timely and accessible services for existing and emerging behavioral health needs.
The CYBHI is a five-year $4.4 billion initiative to reimagine and transform the way behavioral health support is provided to all children and youth ages 0-25 in California with a whole system approach that creates cross-system partnerships to ensure that the reimagined ecosystem is child and youth-centered and equity-focused.
The webinar will (1) provide updates on the progress, work-to-date and upcoming next steps of the initiative and its workstreams; (2) share opportunities for educators, health professionals, advocates, parents, community members and other stakeholders to participate in the development of the CYBHI; and (3) include a brief question-and-answer session.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the webinar. Visit the CYBHI webpage for more information or contact CYBHI@chhs.ca.gov with any questions.
Please note, this event is meant for stakeholders and is closed to the media. For any media inquiries please contact Rodger Butler at Rodger.Butler@chhs.ca.gov.
