The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center recently released Breaking the Rules, a new toolkit to advance a more effective and equitable approach to juvenile probation condition setting and enforcement. The toolkit incorporates videos, self-assessment tools, checklists, a continuum of reform options, and findings from a 50-state policy scan to guide and support state and local juvenile probation agencies, courts, and other key juvenile justice partners to improve current policies and practices.
In addition, the CSG Justice Center is seeking to partner with two jurisdictions to provide cost-free, intensive technical assistance focused on assessing their approaches to juvenile probation condition setting and enforcement, identifying opportunities for improvement, and piloting innovative reform strategies.
