CDCR’s GARE Steering Committee hosted an Ambassador Panel meeting with CDCR Assistant Deputy Director Mona Houston (Division of Adult Institutions), and Warden (A) Trent Allen (Salinas Valley State Prison). These executives shared their thoughts on how putting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) front and center at CDCR help us best serve our employees and communities.

Many Ambassadors have felt resistance when trying to elevate the “GARE message.” What strategies can staff implement to persuade their supervisors and managers to support GARE?
