{"id":524,"date":"2023-10-06T15:07:58","date_gmt":"2023-10-06T22:07:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/hcdom\/?post_type=dom&#038;p=524"},"modified":"2023-12-29T14:39:50","modified_gmt":"2023-12-29T22:39:50","slug":"3-3-6-2-informed-consent","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/hcdom\/dom\/chapter-3-health-care-operations\/article-3-dental-care-6-health-services-record-management\/3-3-6-2-informed-consent\/","title":{"rendered":"3.3.6.2 Informed Consent"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block is-style-no-marker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), its agents, and the Division of Health Care Services shall adhere to the requirements set forth in the California Code of Regulations, Title 15, Division 3, Chapter 2, Subchapter 2, Article 1, Section 3999.202 \u201cInformed Consent Requirement.\u201d<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block is-style-no-marker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>To set forth procedures to ensure and document that a patient\u2019s right to informed consent is observed.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Patients shall provide informed consent by signing the appropriate CDCR Consent Form(s) as outlined in the Health Care Department Operations Manual (HCDOM), Section 3.3.6.1, Health Records Organization and Maintenance, prior to receiving any procedure.
