Pleasant Valley State Prison staff roll up their sleeves and donate

Blood drive at PVSP
In donation chairs, from left, are Ron Godwin, Warden (A), Shane Hall, Correctional Officer, Julie Lujan, Executive Assistant.

Leading by example, Ron Godwin, Warden (A) rolled up his sleeve to donate life giving blood at the 20th Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive at Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP).

In cooperation with the Central California Blood Center (CCBC), the event was well attended and very successful.  As Emmanuel Ochoa, Account Executive from CCBC noted, “we registered a total of 44 donors and walked away with 36 units of blood”.

PVSP Staff, many of whom were first time donors, received donated meal vouchers from KFC and swag from CCBC.  During the continuing campaign drive, any PVSP staff who missed the event can register with CCBC and have their donation count towards the Battle of the Badges event.
