Missing Inmate from Ben Lomond Conservation Camp is CAPTURED

Santa Cruz – John Collard, 56, a minimum-security inmate from California Correctional Center who escaped from Ben Lomond Conservation Camp (CC #45) in a stolen truck on September 2, 2014, has been apprehended.

On September 4, 2014, at approximately 9:30 pm, Monterey Police Department received tips that inmate Collard had been sighted on Cannery Row. Members of the public recognized him from news reports.  Those calls from the public led officers to the Sly McFly’s restaurant where inmate Collard was apprehended by police.

Inmate Collard is currently in custody at Correctional Training Facility in Soledad awaiting transfer back to California Correctional Center in Susanville.
