Each institution and parole region designates an appropriate staff member as a\u00a0<strong>Public Information Officer (PIO).<\/strong> The PIO coordinates public information and community relations programs within state prisons and parole regions. The PIO is also the Warden\/institution head\u2019s Administrative Assistant and the institution\u2019s designee to respond to the public and media requests.
