Subpoenas may require personal appearance and\/or production of documents (subpoenas duces tecum) at a court proceeding. Subpoenas can be issued by attorneys, public defenders, district attorneys, clerks of the court, or judges. Subpoenas can also be issued by the Grand Jury, State and Federal administrative agencies, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
