{"id":29847,"date":"2022-01-11T15:34:23","date_gmt":"2022-01-11T15:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/?post_type=dom&#038;p=29847"},"modified":"2022-01-11T15:34:24","modified_gmt":"2022-01-11T15:34:24","slug":"31060-16-1-individuals-mandated-for-live-scanning","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-3-personnel-training-and-employee-relations\/article-6-appointments\/31060-16-1-individuals-mandated-for-live-scanning\/","title":{"rendered":"31060.16.1 Individuals Mandated for Live Scanning"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Non-Sworn Personnel (NSP) \u2013 Employees in Non-Peace Officer classifications:those who are paid by the state.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Peace Officer (PO) \u2013 Any Peace Officer classification including Retired Annuitants working in Peace Officer positions.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>All Contractors and Volunteers must be live scanned pursuant to DOM Chapter 10, Article 9.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Contractors (CON) \u2013 Contractors, Sub-contractors.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Volunteer (CON) \u2013 Per DOM section 101090.6.3 all provisional and regular volunteers receiving Volunteer Identification Cards (VIC) shall be live scanned.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Provisional volunteers are those who provide their services under escort as determined by the Community Resources Manager and are subject to performance evaluation requirements.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Regular volunteers are those who provide services on an ongoing basis and have completed six months of trial evaluation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Retired Peace Officers (RPO)\/Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit \u2013 Any employee retiring and requesting a CCW permit shall be live scanned.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Before live scanning an individual for a CCW permit\/renewal, email the Live Scan Unit (LSU) to verify that a RPO record is not already on file.\u00a0 Per DOM section 31070.8.5, the CCW live scan is good for the life of the applicant, therefore when the CCW applicant returns to renew their permit every five years, the clearance information from the original live scan is sufficient to process the renewal.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Each applicant requesting a new RPO live scan shall pay a CDCR $68 processing fee.\u00a0 The $68 payment is collected at the time of the live scan submission.
