{"id":7445,"date":"2020-03-31T09:23:19","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T16:23:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdcr.test\/dom\/chapter-1-general-administration\/article-19-research\/14020-8-preparation-of-proposals\/"},"modified":"2020-03-31T09:23:19","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T16:23:19","slug":"14020-8-preparation-of-proposals","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-1-general-administration\/article-19-research\/14020-8-preparation-of-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"14020.8 Preparation of Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>All research proposals submitted for departmental approval shall contain:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Introduction<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Brief statement of the objectives of the proposed study; what questions are being asked or what hypotheses tested.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Specific values of the project with particular focus on administrative decisions to which the findings might be pertinent.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Methodology<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A description of the research methods to be used (e.g., experimental-control group, matched comparisons, exploratory interviews) and the approach to be taken (e.g., descriptive, experimental hypotheses testing, or participant observation).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A description of the measuring devices to be used, (e.g., scales, tests, questionnaires). If measuring instruments are other than those routinely administered in the Department, a copy of the instruments shall be forwarded with the proposal. If they are to be developed as part of the project, a statement of their intended character and rationale shall be included.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The institution where the proponents intend to collect data.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Resources Required<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Names and working titles of personnel involved (both employees of the Department and of other agencies), and their responsibilities in the project.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>An estimate of departmental staff time to be devoted to the project.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Beginning and ending dates of the study.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Additional operating or equipment costs to the State, including alterations to or additions of space.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Demands on the time of inmate subjects and a plan for the compensation of the inmates.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Source of funding.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Other Required Documents<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A copy of the informed consent form that shall be used in the project which shall include as a minimum those items listed in DOM 14020.6.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>An up-to-date curriculum vitae (resume) for each professional staff member of the proposed project.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>For student research projects, a letter from the student\u2019s faculty advisor stating that the student will be working on the project under his\/her supervision and that the project has the approval of the student\u2019s college or university.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A privacy certification signed by the principal investigator of the project outlining procedures for protecting exempt personal information and certifying that these procedures shall be carried out.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>For any proposal previously reviewed by a human subjects committee in a university or outside research organization, a copy of the record of the committee\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t","protected":false},"parent":7435,"template":"","class_list":["post-7445","dom","type-dom","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
