{"id":8021,"date":"2020-03-31T09:24:17","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T16:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdcr.test\/dom\/chapter-3-personnel-training-and-employee-relations\/article-1-equal-employment-opportunity\/31010-13-disability-advisory-committee\/"},"modified":"2024-01-22T21:35:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-22T21:35:49","slug":"31010-13-disability-advisory-committee","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-3-personnel-training-and-employee-relations\/article-1-equal-employment-opportunity\/31010-13-disability-advisory-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"31010.13 Disability Advisory Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Associate Director, OCR, or designee, serves as the liaison to the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) and shall provide advice and assistance to the CDCR Secretary, and the OIA Deputy Director, on disability issues, such as:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Developing and maintaining EEO programs and activities for persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Making recommendations to improve the personnel practices and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Establishing contact with groups and organizations that are concerned with achieving equitable representation and utilization of persons with disabilities in the CDCR workforce.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Monitoring of disability issues identified by the committee, including, but not limited to, reasonable accommodation and accessibility, to ensure that necessary actions occur within reasonable time frames.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Assisting the Department in complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other related statutes.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Membership<strong> <\/strong><\/strong>\u2013 The Associate Director, OCR, or designee serves as the liaison to the DAC.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The DAC shall consist of volunteers selected by the DAC Chairperson and DAC Vice Chairperson with input from the hiring authority and current DAC members. DAC membership, when possible, shall include persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Meetings<strong> <\/strong><\/strong>\u2013 The DAC shall meet at least annually.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Resources <\/strong>\u2013 Members of the DAC shall be primarily involved with the duties and responsibilities of their specific assignments;
