If an evaluator believes he\/she lacks the expertise to evaluate a suggestion, or needs access to resources not available to him\/her, immediately inform the MAA.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Evaluators shall:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Act promptly.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Get the facts.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Use the Evaluator\u2019s Handbook throughout the evaluation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Make a sound recommendation based on his\/her detailed analysis.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Be fair and objective.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Base the findings, conclusion, and award recommendation on the feasibility of the idea, not on the suggester\u2019s eligibility to receive an award.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Make a definite recommendation for adoption or rejection of the suggestion. If a final decision cannot be reached without a trial implementation and cost-savings analysis, the evaluator shall submit an \u201cInterim Report\u201d to the MAA. In every case, the evaluator shall include appropriate comments and documentation necessary to support his\/her recommendation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Complete the Suggestion Evaluation Report (STD. 645A) in terms that can be easily understood by persons unfamiliar with the Department.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Be considerate of the suggester\u2019s feelings and encourage further suggestions, regardless of the outcome of the evaluation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Keep the MAA informed of the progress of the evaluation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If the evaluator requires additional information from an anonymous suggester, contact the MAA. The MAA will act as a liaison between an anonymous suggester and the evaluator.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>It is very important to process suggestions promptly. The timeframe for completing the evaluation is 25 working days.
