{"id":8304,"date":"2020-03-31T09:24:27","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T16:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdcr.test\/dom\/chapter-3-personnel-training-and-employee-relations\/article-6-appointments\/31060-16-criminal-records-check\/"},"modified":"2022-01-07T19:57:30","modified_gmt":"2022-01-07T19:57:30","slug":"31060-16-criminal-records-check","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-3-personnel-training-and-employee-relations\/article-6-appointments\/31060-16-criminal-records-check\/","title":{"rendered":"31060.16 Criminal Records Check"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Revised September 2, 2021<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A criminal records check is a requirement for employment with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and includes:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Consent to be fingerprinted (live scanned).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Request for and review of the Criminal Identification and Information \u2013 State Summary Criminal History (CI&I SSCH).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Process.\u00a0 <\/strong>If an appointment is expected, each applicant shall be live scanned pursuant to Department Operations Manual (DOM) section 31060.16.2 by personnel staff at the earliest possible time. For California Correctional Health Care Services staff, reference Health Care Department Operations Manual, Administrative Policy, Section 2.1 Live Scan Fingerprinting Policy and Procedure. Each live scan shall be processed as follows:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The fingerprint images and personal information shall be transferred directly to the State of California Department of Justice (DOJ) through an automated transferal process made via the live scan device.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A personnel staff member shall fax CDCR Form 3056, Request for Live Scan Service to the Office of Peace Officer Selection (OPOS) Live Scan Unit the day the applicant is live scanned.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0 On CDCR Form 3056, the facility or office region acronym shall be written in the space entitled \u201cOCA No. of Receiving Location.\u201d<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The OPOS Live Scan Unit (LSU) shall forward the DOJ response to the originator of the request, i.e., the hiring authority or designee.
