{"id":8767,"date":"2020-03-31T09:24:43","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T16:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdcr.test\/dom\/chapter-3-personnel-training-and-employee-relations\/article-21-uniforms-employee-grooming-standards\/33020-15-6-dom-supplements\/"},"modified":"2022-01-11T23:07:45","modified_gmt":"2022-01-11T23:07:45","slug":"33020-15-6-dom-supplements","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-3-personnel-training-and-employee-relations\/article-21-uniforms-employee-grooming-standards\/33020-15-6-dom-supplements\/","title":{"rendered":"33020.15.6 DOM Supplements"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Each department, institution, division, facility, or unit that has protective vests in its inventory shall establish and review annually a DOM Supplement entitled \u201cProtective Vests\u201d that shall include the specific department, institution, division, facility, or unit procedures for vest program management.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>These might include, but are not be limited to:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The resources required to provide protective vests for off-institution or facility duties (Medical Guarding Units, hospital coverage, transportation teams, etc.) and the procedures for issuance of these vests from the Standby Vest Pool.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Identification of a vest storage location(s): each institution, division, facility, or unit shall designate a location for their Standby Vest Pool. Each location:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Shall prevent inmate, youth, or parolee access to vest panels.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Should be climate controlled, not be subject to extreme high or low temperatures or excessive humidity, and should allow for vest storage in accordance with the manufacturer\u2019s wear and care recommendations<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Designation of a VCP by position title and number.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Procedures for conducting inventories.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Procedures for procurement and replacement of vests or covers, as required. Replacement must occur before the manufacturer\u2019s warranty expiration date.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The procedures and requirements for using the CDCR 2154.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The procedures and requirements for using the CDCR 2155.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Standby Vest Pool management, issuance, and return procedures. These shall include the specific procedures for cleaning and care, including:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The designation of an employee, by duty assignment, to be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the Standby Vest Pool vest panels and covers.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Provisions to ensure that the Standby Vest Pool vest panels are cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer\u2019s specifications and without inmate youth, or parolee contact. Vest covers can be laundered by inmate, youth, or parolees with appropriate supervision<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A detailed schedule for cleaning Standby Vest Pool components (cover and panels). In Standby Vest Pool situations, protective vests that have been worn shall be cleaned at least weekly. Protective vests shall be cleaned before they are reissued if they are contaminated. This may require the acquisition of extra covers to facilitate the required cleaning.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Specific identification of a contracted cleaner if there are not resources available at the respective site to facilitate protective vest cleaning in accordance with this section. This should also include the required inventory process (including transport to and from the cleaner) to ensure accountability.
