{"id":8867,"date":"2020-03-31T16:05:58","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T23:05:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdcr.test\/dom\/chapter-4-information-technology\/article-2-edp-responsibility\/41020-3-management-information-systems-committee\/"},"modified":"2020-03-31T16:05:58","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T23:05:58","slug":"41020-3-management-information-systems-committee","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-4-information-technology\/article-2-edp-responsibility\/41020-3-management-information-systems-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"41020.3 Management Information Systems Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The MIS Committee shall:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Provide executive leadership in the development of EDP projects and policy.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Enforce compliance of the project approval process with the Department\u2019s Strategic Plan.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Prioritize EDP projects in terms of their importance to the Department\u2019s Strategic Plan.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Review and enforce policy and procedures in support of EDP projects.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>As individual committee members, serve as liaisons with their respective end user communities to promote, coordinate, and facilitate automation efforts, and to ensure effective communication regarding EDP-related issues throughout all levels of the Department.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Educate management in the advantages of automation, new EDPrelated technical innovations, and methods to maximize the efficiency and benefits of automation, and to minimize EDP development and operating costs.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Provide review and approval of all information technology procurements not covered under the approved Workgroup Computing Policy.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Provide ongoing review of CDC-approved EDP projects, terminating those projects which are no longer consistent with the Department\u2019s Strategic Plan.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Note that the MIS Committee does not make any decisions on funding of ITS projects.
